Boris Lacroix began his career in 1920 by joining Paul Dumas' workshop. From 1924 to 1937, he was artistic director of the Vionnet fashion house. During this period, he also designed furniture and lighting, combining glass and metal. He exhibits his creations of lighting and graphic arts at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs in 1927 and the Salon d'Automne. In 1945, he joined the Union of Modern Artists.
Boris J. Lacroix is a pioneer, not only in the modernism of his creations since the 1930s, but also in the use of acrylic, which he covers his luminaires with. The strictly geometric shapes, rigorous lines, right angles and smooth surfaces that characterize his style make his success.
