JEAN BESNARD

"Jean Besnard's productions are simple, elegant, substantial and light. (...) his palette is one of softness and discretion: he likes grays, pale ochres, rusts and soft blues. "Art et Industrie, September 1939, p.22.

Jean Besnard is the son of the painter Albert Besnard (1849-1934) and a potter who notably realized vases with various decorations thanks to techniques such as engraving, printing or painting. He is influenced by impressionism and pointillism. His creations are enhanced by gold and platinum tints and simple shapes associated with a surface work full of details.
