SOFA, c. 1925-1928
Sofa with a straight backrest and scrolling arm supports. The carved wooden frame is water-gilded over a burgundy bole. The fluted legs support a gadrooned seat rail, while the molded arm supports terminate in a carved scroll; the whole piece reflecting an ornamental vocabulary inspired by Neoclassicism.
