The same model was part of the collection of several important patrons of the artist, including André Malraux, former French Minister of Cultural Affairs, who had the same model in his private office.

Provenance

Furniture directly commissioned in the 1930s from the decorator in Paris by Mr. Van Cauwenberghe, then President of the Antwerp Stock Exchange; Van Cauwemberghe estate, Belgium.

Exhibitions

Similar model exhibited at the Musée Galliera in 1932 at the “Metal in Art” exhibition; and at the Salon des Artistes Décorateur (SAD) in 1934.
