Provenance
Parouïr Beglarian. Businessman (Overseas Petroleum Company; owner of a fleet specializing in the transport of hydrocarbons), significant collector (and lender to institutions) of 20th-century art, particularly of the Surrealist movement including Alberto Giacometti, Joan Miró, etc. Close to Diego Giacometti, as noted by Daniel Marchesseau in his book on the Swiss artist, and to Christian Bérard, evidenced by a drawing dedicated by the artist (who died in 1949) with the note: 'To Parouïr with all my heart.' This eternal curious and passionate art enthusiast showed interest in the works of Eduardo Chillida and Simon Hantaï and, more generally, in most avant-garde art movements from the 1950s to the 1980s. A client of the Galerie Maeght and the Galerie Fournier, member of the Association for the Defense of Stained Glass in France founded under the impetus of Bazaine, Manessier, Bertholle, Hartung, Soulages, etc. - By descent.Literature
