Provenance

Jacques-Émile Ruhlmann, surrounded by a group of about forty artists, created a pavilion presenting the "ideal interior" of a modern collector at the International exhibition of modern decorative and industrial Arts in 1925. It was an absolute total work of art where architecture, interior decoration, furniture, sculpture and art objects formed a unique and luxurious set. The pavilion was a huge public success and was soon the subject of numerous publications. Despite its temporary existence, it is now considered as one of the most significant achievements of the interwar period and of the Art Deco spirit.
