A variation of the gondola chair model, this version with a fluted backrest is listed under reference number 88 NR. It was available in several precious woods, including walnut burl, Macassar ebony, and black-stained pearwood. This is the very model Ruhlmann chose to furnish the dining room of the Hôtel du Collectionneur at the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs.
