SET OF FOUR CHAIRS "CROISILLONS" , c. 1937
DÉCORATEUR & GOUFFÉ ÉDITEUR.
Model known as “Croisillons,” designed circa [1937]
Set of four chairs, three in stained beech and one in mahogany.
The backs are curved and feature a lattice (or “cross”) pattern. The legs taper toward the base and extend at the rear in a zigzag line, forming the back supports.
H 75.5 - L 47 - L 42 cm.
H 29 3/4 - L 18 1/2 - L 16 1/2 in.
Two chairs bear the metal plaque GOUFFÉ – 46, 48, 50 Faubourg St-Antoine, Paris beneath the seat rail. The other two have lost their plaques.
