JACQUES-ÉMILE RUHLMANN

Pair of sconces , c. 1925
Pair of gilt bronze wall sconces, each one with three bulbs, topped with a finely fluted, tiered architectural element. This stepped motif extends downward through three recessed levels, evoking the cascading tiers of a fountain. From each level hangs a row of frosted crystal beads, suggesting the flowing movement of water.
The overall composition forms a stylized fountain design—an emblematic Art Deco motif—combining geometric precision with ornamental refinement.
44 x 24 x 12 cm.
17 3/8 x 9 1/2 x 4 3/4 in.
Marked 'BRONZE' on the back.
