Provenance
Painting realized for the decoration of the living room of Marcelle Chaumont, square Pétrarque in Paris. In 1912, Marcelle Chaumont entered the workshops of Madeleine Vionnet who had just opened her maison. She quickly became her closest collaborator. After the closure of the Vionnet house in 1940, Marcelle Chaumont opens her own maison. Like Madeleine Vionnet, she called upon the great decorators and artists of the Art Deco period for her apartment on the Square Pétrarque and her couture house: Jean-Michel Frank, Chanaux, Ruhlmann, Dunand, Lalique, Georges de Feure, Guyot, Clément-Serveau, etc.
