Japanese Goldfish Bar, circa 1928

Bar in black, silver and reddish brown lacquered wood. Two mobile parts decorated with exotic Japanese goldfish. Top in eggshell marquetry. Stamped "Jean Dunand 72 Rue Halle Paris Made in France". The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by J-L Tahon-Dunand. Certificate of authenticity will be given to the buyer.

History

The wood structure was designed by Townley R. Knowles, and was edited by Lawrence Rigby in London in 1928. Jean Dunand has made three lacquered versions : with a Japanese goldfish decor, with a geometrical decor and with a decor form a Jean-Lambert Rucki drawing. The interior design presents high lockers created to welcome folding stools (missing).
