The body is wrapped and protected, but the eyes of « Grande baigneuse accroupie » are wide open, smooth and quiet. They seem to question the viewer on the notion of identity. From the contemplation of this work emerges a tension between perception, representation and the effective « I ». « Grande baigneuse accroupie"meets the world she already occupies- from which she protects herself, yet, on which she invariably weighs.
