PAULE LELEU

Paule Leleu was the daughter of the homonymous decorator, Jules Emile Leleu. When Ivan Da Silva Bruhns left the latter's decorative tapestry department to pursue an individual career in 1936, she took the lead of it. Her five-hundred creations suffuse manifold volumes and lines of which the gradual impregnation of the ascetic and minimalist aesthetic of the time is remarkable.
