SOFA AND PAIR OF ARMCHAIRS, c. 1942-1946
A salon set composed of a sofa and a pair of armchairs, resting on honey-toned walnut legs, molded at the front in a graceful comma shape and of parallelepiped form at the rear.
The gently curved arm supports create a flowing, undulating line of great elegance, echoed by the scalloped backrest. These contours are subtly highlighted by piping in a slightly lighter tone than the fabric, creating a striking and refined visual rhythm.
The ensemble has been newly upholstered in an olive green velvet by Schumacher.
