JEAN DUPAS
UNTITLED (STUDY FOR POSTER), 1929
Ink, chalk and coloured pencil on paper. An allegorical composition depicting two elegant female figures surrounded by deer and birds in an imaginary landscape. Delicate highlights of pink and blue enliven the composition, emphasising Jean Dupas' refined decorative sensibility, in which the grace of the female figures merges with an idealised vision of nature, embodying the distinctive spirit of the Art Deco movement.
