MIRROR, c. 1960
Square mirror with a Talosel (resin) frame, inlaid with silvered glass fragments in shades of red and orange. Some of the translucent glass inserts reveal star motifs created in Lumaline, fine metallic leaf applied using a technique patented by Line Vautrin. The recessed inner edge of the frame is set with rectangular mirror fragments arranged on a bevel, whose reflections are echoed in the central mirror, creating a remarkable sense of depth and a subtle interplay of light.
