EDGAR BRANDT

'LA FORET' FIRESCREEN, c. 1925
Fire screen in patinated wrought iron, raised on scrolling feet supporting a framed structure with a shaped, accolade-form upper section, embellished with an ornamental frieze.
At the center, an intricate wrought-iron composition depicts stags, roe deer, and wild boars in dynamic motion, running through stylized foliage and scrolling motifs. Certain details retain traces of gilding, enhancing the richness and depth of the decoration.
The reverse is fitted with a protective wire mesh designed to shield from the fire.
H 92 - W 95 - D 31.5 cm.
H 36 1/4 - W 37 3/8 - D 12 3/8 in.
Branded 'E.BRANDT'.
